The funeral is one of the first steps we take to remember a person’s life. It’s also a stepping stone in the grieving and healing process. In today’s increasingly secular world – a world in which sometimes we are unsure about belief and faith, or feel that a religious service might be inappropriate families are choosing an alternative style of funeral, not conducted by a Religious Minister which celebrates the life, the beliefs, wishes and personality of the individual in a meaningful, memorable way. I work with you to create a beautiful ceremony. This can include hymns, readings, blessings. It can include passages and readings from a variety of religious teachings if you so desire.
I work closely with you and your funeral director to create a unique funeral service which accurately reflects the true nature of the person and the essence of who they were and how their legacy will live on. I meet with you to discuss your plans for the service and to help with ideas. I can write the order of service. I will talk with you about your loved one’s life and write a beautiful eulogy that you can keep and treasure.
I bring to the role a wealth of experience of working in various settings across the public and private sector with people of all ages. I was a secondary school teacher for many years and a registered childminder. I am also a mum of three. And I have been trained by Toastmasters International in public speaking.
I offer you calmness, kindness and strength at this difficult time in your life and I am there for you guiding you through every step of the funeral process.
